I hadn't yet read the poem when I hit the line "Like a child falling into a mother’s arms." and I started tearing. Maybe because of the way you set up the "missing people" idea and connected it to empty nest feelings. And maybe because it is so hard to stay in the moment when you are a parent but then you wish you could go back and savor all the moments you can't have again.
